An egg donor is a woman (usually in her 20s to mid-30s) who provides her eggs to another woman (an egg recipient) who is not able to get pregnant using her own eggs. The egg recipient uses donor eggs to conceive through an assisted reproductive procedure called in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Some infertile women turn to a family member or friend to donate her eggs. Other times infertile women seek out
an egg donor (usually anonymous) who is compensated for her time and effort!
